Would you get a "designer baby"?

While many of us talk about wanting a boy or a girl when we have a baby, how many of us would actually go so far as to go and see a Dr and pay money to have them assist us in choosing the sex of your baby?

Are there really situations where you need to have a son rather than a daughter? Or a daughter rather than a son?

While people mention preferances , maybe if you are only able to have one child and want to carry on the family name then you may really really want a son, but does that mean you won’t love your daughter if that’s what the baby happens to be?

People who mention in polite conversation that they want to choose the gender of their baby get looked at like they are Dr’s from some sort of Nazi experiment. Just because you would prefer a son or daughter over the alternative.

How much would you spend on trying to ensure that you get the son or daughter that you have always wanted?
