There are some myths on guessing the gender of the inborn baby, but they are only for fun. Some of them include:

-If your belly is high and wide, your having a girl. If you are carrying low out out front, it is a boy.

-If your urine is bright yellow, it is a girl. If your urine is a dull color, it is a boy.

-If you crave meats and cheese, its a boy. If you crave fruits and sweets, its a girl.

-If the baby’s heart rate is over 140, then its a girl. If its under 140, then its a boy.

-If your hair and nails gorw faster, then its a boy. If they stay the same, its a girl. .

-If your nose spreads, it s girl. If your nose stays the same, its a boy.

-If you sleep with your pillow to the south, its a girl. If you sleep with your pillow to the North, its a boy.

-If you have morning sickness, its a boy. If you dont have morning sickness, its a girl.

These are jsut for fun. The only way to tell during the first trimester what gender your baby will be is by a process called Amniocentesis. This is a very uncomfortable process. A doctor takes a hollow needle, and goes through your belly and uterus to collect a sample of amniotic fluid. The amniotic fluid has the genes/DNA of the baby in it and can thus determine the gender. This procedure is usually only done for medical purposes though.

I once babysat for a family that named their little girl the exact same name as her mom….a girl jr. THAT was wierd.

I don’t see anything wrong with that. I have the same initials as my father and I always thought it was neat. Just don’t go overboard. I once knew a couple whose names started with Br and they named their children the same, it was ridiculous.
